I am an assistant professor of Political Science at Colorado State University. I study the politics of dominant group identities with a focus on American politics. I am especially interested in the causes and effects of political allyship — that is, when members of dominant groups engage in political action in support of marginalized groups. My work has received support from the National Science Foundation and the Russell Sage Foundation, and has been published in the American Political Science Review and Social and Personality Psychology Compass.

I hold a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, an M.Sc. in Politics Research from the University of Oxford, and a B.A. in Political Science and Law, Societies and Justice from the University of Washington.

Outside of work, I enjoy running, bouldering, knitting, and reading (recent favorites include Headshot by Rita Bullwinkel and The Mighty Red by Louise Erdrich).
